2003 Winners of the Equity Trustees’ Not For Profit CEO Awards

CEO of the Year

Captain Clyde Thomson, Executive Director, Royal Flying Doctor Service. Captain Clyde Thomson, Executive Director of the South Eastern Section of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), won the Equity Trustees’ 2003 CEO of the Year Award for his dedication and commitment to providing healthcare services to people in Australia’s Outback and for growing the RFDS. In 2003, the RFDS helped 49,000 patients. more

 

Significant Innovation Award

Peter Garnick, Managing Director, Orchestra Victoria Peter Garnick was the winner of the Equity Trustees’ 2003 Significant Innovation Award for guiding the restructure of Orchestra Victoria, developing and implementing an innovative business model, and finding a new niche and name for the orchestra. more

 

First Year Achiever Award

Helen Maxwell-Wright, General Manager, International Diabetes Institute Helen Maxwell-Wright won the Equity Trustees’ 2003 First Year Achiever Award for making a significant difference in her first year at the helm of the International Diabetes Institute. more

 

Long Term Achiever Award

Dr Francis Macnab, Founder and Executive Director, The Cairnmillar Institute. Dr Francis Macnab, Founder and Executive Director of The Cairnmillar Institute, won the Equity Trustees’ 2003 Long Term Achiever Award for a lifetime of service to the community, particularly in the very difficult areas of psychotherapy and psychological counselling to children and adolescents who have experienced major trauma such as physical or sexual abuse. more

 

Judges’ Award

Brett Williamson, CEO, Surf Life Saving Queensland Brett Williamson was the winner of the Equity Trustees’ 2003 Judges’ Award for his 19 and a half years of service working at all levels of the Surf Life Saving Queensland. His association with surf life saving goes back to being a ‘little nipper’. As CEO, he has built the organisation from six staff to 253 permanent and 200 casual employees. more
